The beautiful and talented Kat Ross is a belly dance professional of many talents. She dances, teaches, and produces belly dance shows in Tacoma, WA. She is known for her lovely stage presence, where she dances with humor, style, and grace. Audiences are especially delighted when she dances with her very talented dance partner Antonio, the famous belly dancing boa.
She owns two dance studios in downtown Tacoma; Tacoma Dance Studios. Kat has trained intensively for over 14 years with Washington State’s finest dancers. She strives for excellence in technique and precision, and is well known for her dramatic showmanship. Kat’s dedication has been recognized by many in her audiences as well as judges at regional belly dance competition. She is honored to have accumulated a remarkable list of titles at competitions such as Belly Dancer USA, La Danse Orientale’, and International Ambassador of Belly Dance Competition.
Kat also produces multiple belly dance shows. Her monthly hafla, the Tacoma Belly Dance Revue, showcases dancers from the Pacific Northwest and is now into a successful 5th year. She has also hosted “Homes for the Holiday’s” an animal rescue benefit, “Fables” an extraordinary collection of fairy tales represented by belly dancers, "8 Bit" a video game themed dance show, and "Horrific: A Night of Horror Themed Belly Dance" which is on it's 6th year.
In 2015, Kat started the troupe The Sirens of the Sound. A group of 8 women (Kendra, Brianna, Philomina, Kristi, Stacy, Mercy, Eldika, and Kat) who perform all over the Pacific Northwest at festivals, haflas, professional shows, ren faires, and more.
In addition to dance, Kat hosted a podcast called, “Shut Up! and Shimmy!” It is a free interview show dedicated to belly dance education and advice. Through this effort Kat was able to honor and memorialize the dancing careers of local dancers each week. And you can listen to the podcast at http://www.suaspodcast.com
